1948 Ford "F-1" pick-up
This truck was brought to us after a body shop in the south land had begun to "paint" it. The front clip had been molded using old road signs etc as filler panels and they were going to simply paint over all the damage and body rot present (see pictures). We have stripped down the cab and done extensive metalwork to make it sound once again. The rain gutters were removed, rebuilt and welded back in place, the floor was split several places and the firewall had about 75 holes (some from bullets) that needed filling. A new bed (complete kit) has been ordered.
The chassis has been given a facelift with new springs, ball joints, bushings and shocks. We installed new brake lines etc and replaced all engine gaskets and seals. The transmission and carburator were completely rebuilt. We painted the frame, motor, trans etc and bead blasted the Al intake manifold. Please check out the B-4 and after pics below. Stay tuned for more pics as we continue on this project.
