FROGMAN RACING

REA: WSMC Round #4 (4/18-19)

Greetings all ~ WHEW things have been BUSY for me lately! This last race weekend really sucked for me as a crash threw me WAY down in the points chase.....

I showed up for the races on Sunday full of sprit and ready to race.  My motor was running EXTREMELY well and in practice, I was able to put lots of distance between myself and the other racers.  First race is the Lightweight Vintage Dinosaurs.  We take off and I'm 2nd into T1 and get the lead in T2.  I was holding up pretty well the whole lap until I missed a shift coming into T3 on the next lap and a few riders got by and now I'm in 4th place.  I put my head down and get to work passing guys and get into this real fun dice.  The 3 of us are swapping places and such for the remainder of the race.  I had no idea that I was sometimes leading......  Anyhow, The draft move doesn't go as planned and the 3 of us go over the line basically next to eachother with me being the 3rd across.....

Next race is 500 Singles and I am FULL of confidence and ready to get to it....  THe green flag dropps and I'm first into T1 and rail around the track.  A quick glance coming out of T1 on the 2nd lap and I see a HUGE gap back to the 2nd place rider.  T2 is looming and I am trying to stretch out the gap even further and all of a sudden the rear steps out mid corner and I hold the throttle open and say to myself " Oh SH*T!"  Then it hooks up again and B-4 I could do anything, I'm off in the weeks doing my best Jeramy McGrath immitation.   THat thing really tried to buck me off but I managed to hold on all the way up to T3 then.....  I get launched back onto the track from the top of the 8' tall bank.   OUCH!  A broken bone on each foot, badly sprained ankles and THIS REALLY SUCKS!  Surprisingly, my bike isn't too bad and it is taken back to my pit B-4 I am and some friends start getting it back together.  It is actually ready for me when I get there!  Someone gets it running, others carry me over and put me on, I'm off to tech and back to the hot pit.  Race Control hesitates to let me out but then does and I'm off to get a lap in, 6th place and some badly needed points.  WHEW!  After it is over, I nap and take some meds....

Next thing I know, itis time for my next race (Formula Singles) and off I go.  Piss-poor start and I really hurt..... Oh well, at least I was able to race and didn't come in last place.  I ended up 5th and loaded up my bike and came home.  I gatta get better and rebuild my bike B-4 next weekend as I am off to Sears Point for the AHRMA races....
